Our client was making the step from being a very successful bar operator to opening a new concept Mexican restaurant operation. The brief was to provide a bar, kitchen, service line, 80 covers internally, 110 externally, storage & associated WC facilities
The venue required a concept to include an external seating area.
Trinity Leeds is the £350M new shopping centre in the heart of Leeds
The existing footprint of the unit was actually regarded as ‘dead space’ by the developer. It was a space created, not by design, but by default as a result of the other areas around it. This meant taking on the challenge to create a workable and ‘wow factor’ restaurant and bar interior within a ‘non-workable’ space. We all feel this was achieved perfectly.
Normal TM approached the design concept by providing a brand new fit-out that would provide a ‘timeless’ appearance; therefore the style of furniture and finishes is a mixture of reclaimed products alongside bespoke items
Beautiful bespoke handmade Mexican floor tiling creates a clean linear look from the service point to the external terrace entrance.
A custom designed glazed partition allows the venue to be full of natural light offered by the beautiful glazed roof of the centre. This is mirrored with the glazing to the kitchen and cookline.
The wall behind the bar is a wonderful array of Mexican themed custom made canvases and framed prints along with the arbitary neon element (crucial client requirement!)
The project took 7 months from design concept through to the grand opening as part of the Trinity Leeds opening day in March 2013.
